Sunderland Law Society CPD

On Thursday 24 September, CLSQ is partnering with Sunderland Law Society to deliver a lunchtime Lunch & Learn on estate administration, exploring the practical challenges and hidden risks that can arise during probate and intestacy matters and the steps practitioners can take to reduce them. Bringing together experienced practitioners, the session considers the common issues encountered when administering an estate, with practical guidance on protecting executors, beneficiaries and estates.

Representing CLSQ, Account Manager Claire Elliott and Underwriter Ellie Steele will lead 'Meet the Underwriter: Protecting Executors and Beneficiaries', a practical look at managing hidden risks in estate administration. Drawing on our specialist underwriting expertise, they will address the situations that most often expose personal representatives to liability, from early distribution and unknown dependants through to missing beneficiaries, missing or later discovered wills and lost share certificates and will show how tailored insurance solutions can help reduce liability, facilitate earlier distribution and provide additional protection for those involved.

Attendees will also hear from Stephen Phillips, Director at Kindred UK, on probate genealogical research and what can go wrong when identifying and locating missing beneficiaries and navigating complex family structures.

The session is designed for wills, probate and private client practitioners, whether they deal with estates routinely or encounter more complex matters involving missing beneficiaries, unknown dependants or potential claims. Places are limited, so early booking is encouraged. To reserve a place, register through Sunderland Law Society.
