Enhances online Legal Indemnity Insurance offering

We have enhanced our online legal indemnity insurance offering, expanding both the range of policies available off theshelf and the breadth of cover provided as standard.

CLSQ enhances online Legal Indemnity Insurance offering – broader cover, greater flexibility, faster protection

We have enhanced our online legal indemnity insurance offering, expanding both the range of policies available off the shelf and the breadth of cover provided as standard.

These updates form part of our continued investment in delivering a streamlined, instant online solution for our clients – enabling firms to secure comprehensive protection more quickly and across a wider range of circumstances.

At the same time, our platform enhancements continue to be supported by our specialist underwriting expertise, ensuring tailored solutions remain available where required.

Refreshed Planning & Building Regulations suite

A key element of the update is a refreshed suite of Planning and Building Regulations policies, with enhanced versions now available online.

The updated suite includes:

  • Lack of Planning and/or Building Regulations
  • Lack of Permission to Construct a Vehicular Crossing or Dropped Kerb
  • Lack of Conservation Area Consent
  • Lack of Listed Building Consent

These enhanced products provide wider standardc over and greater flexibility, allowing additional risks to be insured instantly online.

What’s new?

The refreshed policies now include:

  • An option to insure lack of permission relating to original construction or change of use
  • An option to insure properties operating as Houses in Multiple Occupation (HMOs)
  • Broader protection under Listed Building and Conservation Area policies

Importantly, our Listed Building and Conservation Area policies now incorporate planning permission and building regulations cover as standard. This reduces the need to arrange multiple policies to address connected risks, simplifying the transaction process and reducing administrative burden.

Extended scope of loss

We have also extended the scope of policy losses so that cover is no longer restricted solely to Court Orders.

This allows valid claims to be settled more efficiently where appropriate, even where matters do not proceed to court – supporting a faster and more pragmatic claims resolution process.

Reduced need for bespoke quotations

By broadening the range of risks that can be addressed online and expanding standard cover within our policies, many scenarios that previously required referral can now be placed instantly through our platform.

This helps reduce delays, minimise manual intervention, and provide greater certainty earlier in the transaction.

Section 106/52 Agreement policy now online

We have also moved our Section 106/52 Agreement policy from an offline product to our online platform.

Conveyancers can now obtain instant quotations online, removing the need for manual referrals in the majority of cases and helping to keep transactions moving.

Digital efficiency, backed by our underwriting expertise

Our enhanced online LII proposition is designed to make it quicker and easier for conveyancers to secure comprehensive cover across a wider range of circumstances. By expanding the scope of policies available off the shelf and strengthening the functionality of our platform, we are enabling firms to address more risks instantly and with greater confidence.

Importantly, this digital capability is underpinned by deep underwriting expertise. While more policies can now be placed instantly online, we recognise that complex or unusual transactions require specialist input. Our underwriting team remains fully equipped to provide bespoke quotations and tailored cover where risks fall outside standard parameters.

It is this blend of sophisticated technology and experienced underwriting that enables CLSQ to help law firms reach a position of certainty sooner and with greater confidence, in every transaction.
